4.3 Manage the collection and analysis of evaluation and/or research data using appropriate technology.
This project is a powerpoint presentation that my group and I created. We based our research on the leading causes of death. We focused our analysis on heart disease as it is the #1 leading cause of death today. We included present diseases that largely affect our population like COVID-19 and how it became the 3rd leading cause in 2020. We also included which demographics are affected by certain diseases and the factors that cause them. This project is an example of area IV and under competency 4.3. It manages the collection and analysis of evaluation and research data while using appropriate technology.

4.4 Interpret data.
This project is a flyer illustrating the increased cases of COVID-19 in California in early May. I interpreted the data of rising cases to conclude that social distancing is effective to prevent the spread. In early May, many residents of California and Florida gathered at the beaches as the temperatures increased. I used infographics to support my claim that irresponsible actions can cause a surplus of patients in the hospital with not enough beds. The project is an example of area IV and falls under 4.4.
Advocacy Letter to VP Kamala Harris
5.1 Identify a current or emerging health issue requiring policy, systems, or environmental change.
This project is a letter advocating for the restoration and straightening of the environmental policies in the Clean Power Plan. I sent this letter to the current Vice President, Kamala Harris. California is a hot spot for pollution and is in need of strict regulations for greenhouse gas emissions. Smog related diseases in LA County are at a high, while also climate change escalates throughout the years. I advocate for this plan to ensure the well-being of future generations and current residents affected by pollution. This project is an example of area V and falls under competency 5.1. It identifies a current emerging health issue requiring policy, systems, or environmental change.
