Personal Philosophy of Health Science
I am a progressivist when it comes to education. In other words, I believe that individuality and experience are important in how we learn and obtain information. Our experiences are what shape our ideals and perspectives. We grow by overcoming our hardships and learn from them. Every person has been through different situations that make us stand out from the rest.

My philosophy in life is to live in balance, in order to live a happy and healthy life you must equally incorporate health, work, education, etc. From balance, you are able to attain life's fulfillment and contentment.

The importance of my life lies with my family and loved ones. I value relationships and experiences shared with close friends. Strong relationships are what keeps a person afloat and have the capability of spreading positivity. Empathy, respect, and generosity are the ideals I learned from these relationships. Experiences shared with others help build character and develop integrity. From my personal experiences, sacrificing for and prioritizing family and loved ones helped me develop integrity. I learned that empathy comes a long way and understanding others’ hardships is what makes a good person. I strive to value and give the at-most respect to others. The purpose of life is to live in compassion.
Health is based on the individual and looked at as a whole. Holistic health looks at the lifestyle and well-being of the individuals. The balance of the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional components of life is what makes a person healthy. The study of the dimensions of wellness is health education. Education of health influences the positive lifestyles and behavior of individuals and communities.

The purpose of health is to take care of one another to ensure a meaningful life. I believe that health education is also progressive. Healthcare looks at the individual and what personal imbalances require care. Education in health is enforced by experiences. An effective way to learn health is to experience it and understand the values of it. Health promotes happiness and longevity, it is designed to ensure improvement. Teaching others the value of health allows individuals and communities to understand the importance and how to live a healthy lifestyle. I believe that health education is a powerful tool developed by empathy and compassion ensuring a positive lifestyle for generations.

Although Health Education is designed to promote health and balance, it has its limitations. There is a need for change in the policies of health education. Unfortunately, Healthcare and education are not accessible to all. Health educators are limited to the number of resources and time given to effectively instruct. The responsibility of a health educator is to the best of their ability to educate, promote, and improve the wellness of individuals and the community.

The purpose of health education is to influence the positive lifestyles and behavior of individuals and communities.

A person is health educated when they are able to promote, educate, and improve the lifestyles of others while understanding the importance of health.
